Three Dubrovnik artists, Slaven Tolj, Izvor Pende and Marijana Vukic Pende, are preparing for the 58th Venice Biennale.
For the first time, Dubrovnik will present itself independently at the most famous contemporary art fair, thanks to the friendship of these two cities and their cultural cooperation.
As a result of the 2012 twinning agreement between Dubrovnik and Venice, which supports the cultural co-operation of cities, Dubrovnik presents itself at the Venice Biennale with the exhibition 'Place of Intermittent Departures'.
The internationally renowned artists with their Dubrovnik address Izvor Pende, Slaven Tolj and Marijana Pende are presented in the Tesa 100 space in Arsenal, the heart of the Venice Biennale, which attracts more than 600,000 visitors annually.
The presentation of Dubrovnik by this exhibition in Venice aims to create continuity in work and continue to promote the city as a point that recognizes the contemporary artistic moment in its environment of a high degree of civilization and respect for cultural and artistic heritage.
This exhibition, which opens in Venice on May 9th at 5pm, is one of the most significant and challenging projects in the cultural calendar of Dubrovnik and Croatia this year.
Artists Izvor Pende and Marijana Pende, as well as project curator Jelena Tamin, presented works specially made for this exhibition in Venice
