My work evolves around the idea of sharing and telling stories of my life experiences as well as my background of my Tewa and Hopi culture.
I am primarily a sculptor but also work in other mediums of print making, charcoal and graphite drawings as well as jewelry.
As a sculptor my work involves stone, wood, clay and bronze. The foundation of my work is rooted in my Tewa and Hopi culture and the surrounding landscapes but also current events and issues.
This body of work relates to sharing stories and the idea of interaction. Several of these pieces are interactive, inviting the collector or viewer to be involved. Being able to disassemble some of these pieces the viewer can create their own compositions creating a dialogue between us and the idea of the constant change and possibilities.
Conversation and dialogue is something much needed especially in current times and this body of work is relating to that.
