David Richard Gallery will be returning to the 2016 Dallas Art Fair, April 14 - 17 at the Fashion Industry Gallery. Our presentation will be in 2 parts: the main booth and the viewing room. The main booth presentation will feature a selection of the gallery’s contemporary artists with a balance of sculptural objects and paintings, some figuration, but mostly abstraction. The emphasis is on the materiality and physicality of the artwork that begs engagement by the viewer either because of its tactile qualities, unusual use of supports, transformation of materials or a digital medium. This presentation will feature artworks by the following artists: Michele Bubacco, Chris Collins, Peter Demos, Anne Farrell, Erik Gellert, Christian Haub, Catherine Howe, Paul Huxley, Phillis Ideal, Matt King, Matthew Kluber, Matthew Penkala, Gabriel J. Shuldiner and Jack R. Slentz. 

Then, in the viewing room, we will present more historical work that focuses on Op Art, visual perception and Washington Color painters. Most of the pieces will be from the 1960s and some from the 70s and 80s, featuring iconic figures who were major contributors to the art movements and groups noted above. The emphasis of this work is more on process and color interaction, but also begging for viewer engagement to complete the exercise. The Closet will feature artworks by: Richard Anuszkiewicz, Leon Berkowitz, Francis Celentano, Dan Christensen, Howard Daum, Thomas Downing, Francis Hewitt, Ed Mieczkowski, Rakuko Naito, Julian Stanczak and Tadasky.

From Friday, April 15 through Sunday, April 17, 2016, prominent national and international art dealers and galleries will exhibit painting, sculpture, works on paper, photography, video, and installation by modern and contemporary artists at the sixth annual Dallas Art Fair located in the revitalized downtown Arts District.
