Panel Discussion | Closing Reception Saturday, October 19, 2:00—4:00 PM with:
Allan Graham
John Yau (critic, historian and poet)
Peter Frank (historian and critic)
Arden Reed (critic)
Graham’s fascination with and deconstruction of language is a multimedia and multicultural experience that challenges conventional art making practices. He creates both text and images from the text. As John Yau writes in the catalogue essay regarding Graham’s selection of phrases, they “ . . . simultaneously make sense and nonsense. Graham seems to want to create that short circuit in our thinking, to help us rethink our assumptions, the many givens we accept without question.”
