Sihvonen painted hard edge and geometric paintings. This painting combines geometric shapes and repeated fragments of those shapes from his "Ladder" series combined with elliptical shapes from his 60s "Ellipse" series as well as vibrational colors and optical and illusory effects to create the sensation of motion in a two-dimensional picture.
