Biography:

Patsy Krebs, living in lower Manhattan in the early 1960s, was just beginning her exploration of abstract painting. She was a resident in the loft building on Park Place, in the neighborhood that is now called Tribeca, before leaving the U.S. for nine months of travel in North Africa and Greece.

During that time Park Place coalesced into a cooperative gallery, eventually moving to the space on West Broadway where it became an important focal spot for new ideas in painting, sculpture and performance.  After her return from abroad she was among the many artists participating in events and included in invitational exhibits at that venue. In 1967 she moved to southern California, attended graduate school and continued her exhibiting and teaching career.
