Kenneth Victor Young (1933-2017) began his painting career in Washington, DC in 1964, exploring color and abstraction using diluted paint on unprimed canvas alongside other Washington Color Painters in the 60s and 70s, including Kenneth Noland, Sam Gilliam, Thomas Downing and Gene Davis, among others. Young will have a solo exhibition of paintings, entitled “Continuum”, curated by Dexter Wimberly at the American University Museum, Katzen Arts Center in Washington, DC opening April 6, 2019.
Young’s artworks are included in the National Gallery of Art and Smithsonian American Art.
